Sheriff Bojang Jnr. ist Präsident der Gambia Press Union und Stipendiat des Berliner Stipendienprogramms. Er hat über zehn Jahre Berufserfahrung im Journalismus. Er arbeitete für internationale Medienkanäle wie France 24, The Guardian, Aljazeera, Voice of America, Radio France International und Radio Netherlands.

Seit 2008 ist Bojang Korrespondent für RFI English und für das New African Magazine. Neben seiner journalistischen Tätigkeit arbeitet er als internationaler Berater der Organisation UN Women in Westafrika.

Nachdem Bojang über die Menschenrechtsverletzungen unter dem ehemaligen Präsidenten Gambias, Yahya Jammeh, berichtet hatte, musste er für zehn Jahre im Exil in Senegal leben. Bojang hat für seine Dokumentationen zweimal den Search for Common Ground Award vom Radio for Peacebuilding Africa erhalten.

Sheriff Bojang Jnr. is Gambia Press Union’s current president and a fellow of the Berlin Scholarship Program. He has more than ten years of experience in journalism. He has worked for international media outlets including France 24, The Guardian, Aljazeera, Voice of America, Radio France International, and Radio Netherlands.

Since 2008, he has been working as a correspondent for RFI English and for the New African Magazine. In addition to journalism, he works as an international consultant for UN Women in West Africa.

Due to his work, Sheriff was forced to spend 10 years in exile in Dakar, Senegal, following human rights violations under the Gambia’s former president, Yahya Jammeh. For his documentaries Sheriff has received two Search for Common Ground Awards from Radio for Peacebuilding Africa.
